Summary/Abstract: Freedom of religion is often at a disadvantage in balancing human rights, legitimate interests, and protected characteristics. Dignity can be approached from the perspective of religion as a public good. It emphasizes the precedence of good in religious conscience over legal rights under the law as public morality. Introducing religion as a public good could function as the basis for freedom of religious conscience and can relieve the tension over the protection of religion or belief in the workplace. Religion and freedom of religion will prove to be a flourishing factor within an understanding of public good.
