Summary/Abstract: The interview with Ion Bulei was taken in Venice by Adriana Babeţi, on the occasion of the international conference "Cultures in Dialogue", held there on May 8th-9th, 2002. The manifestation was caused by the anniversary of 10 years since the reopening of the Institute founded by Nicolae Iorga in 1930. The head of the Romanian Institute for Culture and Humanistic Research in Venice tries to explain the main responsibilities and initiatives presupposed by such a position. The interview continues with an outline of the projects undertaken by the Venetian Institute and a discussion related to the cultural chances of Romanian initiatives and partnerships abroad. The last part of the interview also goes over several personal projects and opinions belonging to Ion Bulei.
