Summary/Abstract: The conservation-restoration works of the interior and exterior mural paintings from the Church of the Three Holy Hierarchs within the Berislăvești Monastery founded by the boyar Sandu Bucșănescu, now on the verge of completion, revealed an important mural ensemble, representative for the middle of the eighteenth century in Wallachia, thus uncovering a painting forgotten under the overpaint from the second half of the 19th century. At the same time, the approach taken in the current intervention has led to the preservation and conservation of all the changes and transformations the mural painting has gone through over time, thus leading to the discovery of new inscriptions that offer us a rich study material. Thus, the research is not currently finished and it remains open to both art historians, architects and restorers.
