Summary/Abstract: This paper attempts to reconstruct the psychological landscape ridden with pain, passion and pandemic-related suffering pertaining to the characters of Clarín’s The Cough Duo. They employ non-verbal language to express the feelings the author intends to render. The timely nature of this approach becomes evident once it is related to the psychological trauma instilled by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has grown to affect human society overall, particularly because of preventive social distancing and isolation.
