Summary/Abstract: Turkish musical culture that started with the emergence of Turks on the stage of history constitutes the musical culture of the Republic of Turkey, transferring into three different species for centuries. The first is folk music, blended with the interaction of different cultures brought by the settled life through migration to various countries throughout history. The second is the chromatic music which covers the music culture of this geography with the acceptance of Islam by Turks and then settling in Anatolia. The third is Contemporary Turkish Music, Turkish national music compatible with the universal music style and uses the melody and rhythmic elements of folk music or being inspired by that. In this study, Turkish folk music and music culture, which is an essential part of the Horon music, Contemporary Turkish composers in the form of contemporary Turkish music compiled and composed with various examples are addressed.
