Summary/Abstract: This study explores the situation of Sign Language interpreters in Romania during the Covid-19 pandemic from a pragmatic perspective. After a theoretic framework about Sign Language interpreting and competences of the interpreters, we described the data of our investigation. Results of the study indicate changes in Sign Language practice during Covid-19 pandemic, opportunities and challenges faced by interpreters during this period, interpretation requests, distance work with the sub-themes: platforms used, stressors, home interpretation with difficult aspects and advantages, balance between personal and professional life.
