Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on relatively new features of literary criticism these days. Literary criticism in 21st century was affected by some significant changes and this paper tries to describe the important ones. It is focused on the marketing and educational function of current literary criticism connected also with its presence on social media. Another topic is the presence of critical thinking, evaluation and arguments (or lack thereof) in current critical texts which are strongly related to the author. The aim of this paper is to find an answer to the question whether literary criticism is now “zero”, not “hero”, in the context of its high position in literary science some decades ago.
