The green port concept in the strategic activities of Polish seaports

Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected seaports’ approaches to sustainable development and policy-making based on the green port concept. In the current reality, the development of seaports should not only focus on traditional activities related to the development of port resources – infrastructural or suprastructural development. New forms of activity should go beyond the boundaries of their operation and include, inter alia, issues related to the social environment and environmental sensitivity. The survey results illustrate the priorities of port development activities and indicate areas that require increased attention. Action in these areas is necessary to enhance activities that balance economic, social and environmental benefits.
