Summary/Abstract: The effective prevention of drug trafficking, as a transnational phenomenon of great proportions, is indispensably conditioned by the principle of international cooperation, based on the mutual exchange of information between the states of the world, information related to crimes and the national specificity of incrimination, problems which preventive activities face, etc. In this study, the authors addressed some specific issues related to the prevention of drug trafficking in the Republic of Moldova, focusing on the regulatory and criminal indictment of the crimes concerned, the level of drugs related crimes, and finally provide some solutions which can be implemented in the future perspective of developing drug trafficking prevention policies and solving their existing problems. Hoping that authors' observations, findings and conclusions will find applicability in the study of drug trafficking offenses, we await reader's suggestions, being aware that our attempt is a perfectible approach.
