Summary/Abstract: The circus is one of the oldest and most well-known entertainments of the people. Its flamboyant and magical world with its extraordinary structure and multidimensionality has attracted the attention of the Art World. The circus theme is one of the most frequently studied subjects in art. The circus theme, seen in the works of many artists such as Watteau, Degas, Renoir, Seurat, Lautrec, Picasso, Léger, Chagall, Calder, is mixed with the opportunities of an attractive workspace. As colorful and exuberant entertainment areas as possible, they are the presentation places of the magnificence where the excitement is experienced at its peak with all its brilliance. The provocative exhibition centers, where the human body is presented in its most dynamic forms in extraordinary positions, mostly contain the notion of nomadism in their philosophy of life. The back of the objective situation of the glittering show floors is surrounded by backstages shaped by the difficulty and lack of existence of micro-habitats. The circus is a huge family and represents a way of life for its members, while being both a training ground and a center of teaching. The creative repository of the production knowledge of the artists accumulates in the background of the systematic of thought, life practice and sensitivity. The works created based on this plan are waiting to be interpreted for the audience. Refreshing the circus theme, which has been immortalized in the works of many artists in the history of art, from an individual perspective, Botero brings it to life by addressing this timeless and memorable theme from all aspects. In this direction, the works of Fernando Botero, in which he deals with the circus life, will be discussed and analyzed with the method of semiotics.
