Summary/Abstract: This article presents the results of a study conducted by the CC-TUIASI Counseling Center in 2020. The study consisted of applying a questionnaire, in May 2020, within the project obtained through competition from the Institutional Development Fund for State Universities (CNFIS-FDI, 2020) aiming to examine how first-year students perceive and adapt to the academic environment in the first year of university studies. Discussions on learning and study strategies and their importance to reduce dropout rates are presented as well.
