Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the potential of modern online learning and the expandingpossibilities of using Internet resources for independent or community online learning. Theperiod of intensive use of distance learning during the Covid -19 pandemic changed attitudestowards online learning, and revealed its advantages and disadvantages. However, developmentof online education is universal, not just occasional. It requires high-quality educationalcontent, quality control systems, and flexibility in the selection of individual learning pathways.Individualization of online learning process is now the major concern of content providers. Ourresearch confirms that when technological and organizational obstacles of delivering educationvia the Internet were removed, the human factor became a key component of the effectiveimplementation of online education. Nevertheless, the article draws attention to the existinglimitations of online education and the fact that traditional learning is irreplaceable
