CONSTRUCTION OF A FOREIGN MEDIA EVENT BY FRANCE 2 AND RTR TELEVISION NEWSPAPERS: NATIONAL ANCHORING AND TRANSNATIONAL DYNAMICS

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses media coverage of the explosion in Beirut on August 4, 2020. It questions the national and transnational dimensions of television production in France and Russia. The article describes the logic of the construction of the news that proves to be transnational : the transnational format of the newspaper, the similar device, the choice of images. Television is therefore subject to a transnational model of news construction. But the treatment of the Lebanese event gradually become nationally oriented. The presence of national figures proves it. The newscaster plays a crucial role in media construction. It is comparable from one national context to another. But the figure of the presenter also reveals the national perception of the media.
