Summary/Abstract: Taking into consideration that Romania's economic, social and even historical evolution is connected, at least in the immediate future, with the one of the European Union, Romania needs to adapt sooner or later to the Union's initiatives (obviously being able to amend them, through different decisional levers to which it has access in the community forums, in the castoff a striking inadequacy to its own needs or realities). Starting from the fact that the main objective of the European Union is achieving a polycentric and balanced spatial development, it is very important to approach Romania's position within the European space structure.
