Summary/Abstract: The present paper selectively foregrounds instances of contemporary novelists’ concern and reflection on the state-of-art examination of migration in the countries they belong to as a recognition of the condition of alterity and its effects on people’s mental make up and individual identity. Multicultural social contexts bring forth situations, tendencies and necessities that have to be regulated by specific public policies so that individuals of different ethnic communities should be accepted in a spirit of freedom and equality
