Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the anthroponymic terms male name/male proper name, female name/female proper name, baby name, boy’s name/boy’s proper name, girl’s name/girl’s proper name, which can be variously stated and understood either within individual languages and onomastic schools or from the point of view of wider use, for example in Slovak. In the system of Slavic onomastic terminology, they were also classified differently within hyponymic-hyperonymic relations. Due to the social need, especially after 1989 and changes in laws, terms such as Slovak rodovo neutrálne meno (= gender-neutral name) and obojrodové meno (= unisex name) began to be used. Finally, the author submits a proposal for the introduction and systematic processing of these terms in the Slovak onomastics.
