Summary/Abstract: The paper offers a critical edition of the Ottoman source containing the census of dues and outstanding debt to the Imperial Treasury for tenure in the Sandjaks of Kruševac and Smederevo from 1473 to 1481. The document is an integral part of the census of dues registered in several sandjaks of Rumelia in the late 15th century. The outstanding debts relate primarily to tenure on sheep tax in Kruševac, Petruš, Bovan, Dubočica, Prokuplje and Niš, and tax collected from the Vlachs in the Smederevo Sandjak. The document also contains data on the religious background of tenants, partly elucidating the participation of the conquered people in financial entrepreneurship immediately after the establishment of Ottoman rule in the Balkans.
