Summary/Abstract: Trade unions are structures with legal personality established by employers and workers to protect and improve their economic, social and cultural interests. They make important contributions to raising working life standards. there is an important role of trade unions in the education sector for enhancing the quality of the national education system in Turkey, more qualified to become the increase of the competence level of training employees and business running. With the research, it is aimed to identify the problems faced by the education unions operating in this business line in with the purpose, organizational structure, functioning and activities, and to determine their views on education. In this research carried out in a qualitative research approach, the problems regarding their functioning and their views on education were collected from the union managers by adhering to the semi-structured interview technique. To the research, representatives of four major unions (Türk Eğitim-Sen, Eğitim-Sen, Eğitim-İş, Eğitim Bir-Sen) that are active in the education business branch in Trabzon and have the highest number of members - as president, vice president and / or secretary- 8 people were included. The data collected within the scope of the research were subjected to descriptive analysis; gathered and interpreted under certain themes. As a result of the research, it has been observed that the diversity of education unions and their activities by leaning on a certain ideology or political ground negatively affect the functionality of the unions and weaken their power. It has been determined that the relation of education unions with political parties is seen as an important problem. The negative attitudes of the people in the education profession group towards the trade unions in this line of business were conveyed; It was stated that their membership was generally carried out within the scope of individual interests-assignment-assignment-position, etc.; proposals about the process are offered.
