Summary/Abstract: The aim of my paper (“Reflections about the investigation of space in Zsuzsa Bánk's texts”) is to test two cognitivist approaches for the investigation of space formation on exemplary texts, short stories by Zsuzsa Bánk. The first approach is the conceptual metaphor theory by Lakoff and Johnson and the other the conceptual integration theory by Fauconnier and Turner. I am mainly concerned with the question to what extent these approaches help to uncover the structures of the thematic area “relationship”. Selected short stories from the collection Heißester Sommer (2005) and the story Weihnachtshaus (2018) will be examined in my paper.
