Summary/Abstract: The Polish language has significantly changed its image through the ages. It has responded to the transformations of reality whilst at the same time maintaining its own identity. Today it has new possibilities with English-language culture becoming an ideal partner for our beloved mother tongue. Obviously, strong resistance to this, stemming from the fear of losing the native tradition, is inevitable. It is, however, a well-known fact that every language is a living entity which evolves regardless of the opposition of its conservative defenders. The universal character of the English language may well have a positive effect on Polish. The clear structure of this international communication tool may teach us a constructive lesson in overcoming our confusing grammatical rules. Let simplicity win! Let there be clear rules that purify the language of its complexities and accumulations! It is enough to look at the phenomenon of poring over spelling rules that in no way relate to the standard of communication between Polish people. This example alone shows that we need a fresh approach. And listening to British or American people speaking our language, without any concern for style and correctness, is enough to remind us of the importance of communication; communication and openness...
