Summary/Abstract: The present paper focusses on idioms as well as on the scaffolding principle to describe a method for the aquisition of technical German. For beginner speakers of German it is of great importance to learn German as a foreign language at the same time with specific vocabulary in German grammar, literature and culture. The syllabi for German study programs at Romanian universities provide nowadays information about specific grammar or literature courses for beginners outlining connections between learning outcomes and content. In order for the students to achieve knowledge and a specific skill it is imperative to offer f rom the beginning a particular kind of support based on various kinds of idiomatic expressions in order to build up a professional philological vocabulary.
