Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the influence of social capital on the process and result of professional socialization of the individual, argues that in the mechanism of professional socialization social capital largely determines the choice by the individual of identification objects and value-normative system that will regulate his or her behavior. It is emphasized that social capital of the professional environment in which the individual finds himself can not only promote but also hinder the accumulation of socially acceptable cultural skills, knowledge and information. This is due to the social and moral orientation of the value system on which it is based.
