Summary/Abstract: The article presents a general overview on practices restraining competition in Poland. Polish law is the subject to compare with EU legal regulations regarding competition. The article summarizes basic issues of legal regulations that constitute Polish Competition Law system – both in substantive and procedural aspects. The article ought to be treated unlike the complete compendium of knowledge regarding Polish competition law but rather as an introduction to the issue of Polish antitrust regulations. The three basic areas the author focuses on are – prohibited practices restraining competition, abuse of dominant position and finally, institutional enforcement of competition law in Poland provided by the President of the Competition and Consumer Protection Office (President of UOKiK). The author presents main categories of practices restraining competition as well as abuse of dominant position. The item refers to EU competition law by comparing differences and similarities with Polish legal system, which makes the article as of introductory character.
