The Creativity of Librarians: Conceptualization and Implementation

Summary/Abstract: The year 2009 was declared by the European Commission as the Year of Creativity and Innovation, the purpose of this iniative being that of emphasizing the importance of creativity and innovation, which can be seen as ways of improving both professionally and personally, and also as means of integrating in society. Creativity is a necessity for society, for a professional community and for librarians, too. Nowadayas, libraries have to face new challenges, determined by changes in the society. In order to keep up with such changes and to preserve their important part in the life of society, libraries have to adjust to social realities, an important tool being the so-called management of the knowledge.
