Summary/Abstract: Building companies from Yugoslavia participated in the construction of many buildings which are now seen as icons of the architecture of the so-called normalisation period in Czechoslovakia. Unlike the groups of “gastarbeiters” of other nations, the locals usually had sympathy for the Yugoslavs. If they eventually stayed in Czechoslovakia, most often through mixed marriage, they quickly and successfully integrated into the Czech environment.
