Summary/Abstract: Diverticulosis of the colon is one of the most common conditions encountered by surgeons and gastroenterologists. The incidence rate is higher in the developed countries and in the elderly. The conservative treatment is sufficient for the uncomplicated forms, but forcases with severe progression and the presence of complications, surgery remains the only alternative. In the last years laparoscopic surgery marks a significant progress and successfully replaces the conventional techniques even in the treatment of the complicated diverticulosis with colon perforation.
