ANALYSIS OF A TOURIST FUNCTION IN TOWNS AND VILLAGES ON THE LAKESHORE OF LAKE JEZIORAK

Summary/Abstract: Lake tourism has a significant impact on the development of rural areas in the lakelands. The aim of the study was to determine the tourist function of the eight localities around Lake Jeziorak, one of the largest and the longest lakes in Poland. An inventory of accommodation and accompanying base in particular localities was made. The indicators of tourist function development were calculated. The role of tourist function in the functional structure of the town Iława and the nearby villages was determined. Tourism development indicators show that for five villages the tourist function is basic or one of the main in their functional structure. In terms of spatial equipment in the accommodation facilities the tourist function is basic or one of the main in all destinations
