The Filmawka Website as an Example of New Electronic Media: An Analysis of the Website’s Style Based on Selected Texts

Summary/Abstract: Informational websites make a perfect example of new electronic media. They are very vulnerable to external factors and to changes in writing style over time, which stems from the dynamics of expression and their general accessibility. As a result, the texts which appear on such websites are varied, depending on the time of their publication. They also deviate from standards and strict rules followed in traditional media. All these characteristics are reflected in reviews and articles published on Filmawka, a website created in mid-2018. During this short time, Filmawka has achieved an important position in the Polish Internet world and can certainly be identified as part of the mainstream media. This article presents the key characteristics of new electronic media on the example of websites and examines changes in language and its features observed in reviews and articles published on Filmawka.
