Summary/Abstract: In order to shed light on a criminal event, that shedding must always be relied upon and depend on a complex or set of factors that greatly contribute or, in other words, make it impossible to establish the relevant facts themselves. They can be of a personal nature, of an objective or subjective nature as well as of the technical nature itself. Scientific progress today allows new methods as well as innovations in a particular domain, and sometimes even to fully compensate for subjective human cognitive deficiencies. Throughout the practice, the examples are numerous, so in that direction and in that sense the new forensic technology can make visible the traces that once remained unnoticed at the scene due to the impossibility of their detection with the naked eye. Namely, genetic testing of biological traces can be crucial even for the true and correct legal qualification of the crime that was committed in the criminal event. The establishment of DNA profile databases as a segment or part of a series of tools that contribute to the effective fight against crime has been a subject of interest to the professional public in the last few decades. However, from another aspect and on the other hand, there is a problem that is aimed at endangering the rights of citizens regarding privacy and protection of personal data, so the very creation of such databases, especially the unlimited storage of such data and DNA profiles. it becomes problematic.
