Some legislative and case law aspects of the protection of personal data

Summary/Abstract: The increasing concerns in the matter of protection of personal data have been favoured, among others, by the unprecedented developments in the field of technology and digitalisation. These concerns have over time increased, at the level of the European Union, in the sense that the issue of human rights has increasingly come to the attention of European decision-makers. These aspects have materialized in the inclusion of generous objectives in the amending treaties of the European Union, in the adoption of an adequate derived legislation, but also in a consistent case law.
