Public Libraries and Adult Education between Necessity and Disinterest

Summary/Abstract: This article aims to highlight the involvement of the public library in the effort to support the instructional-educational process for the adult population. Although at the social level there is a great need for the education of the adult population, and the traditional cultural institutions have assumed this responsibility on the social level, coming to meet the adult population, there is a lack of interest and availability of adults to access the educational programs intended for them. An example is the programs offered by public libraries. Previous research has shown the disinterest of adults in public libraries.
