Summary/Abstract: In the article, the author reflects on the principle according to which words in Macedonian are stressed, and which language level regulates this principle. The author is of the opinion that it is not possible to establish such a rule, consequently the word stress in Macedonian should be treated as part of the dictionary information, although the official standard norm determines the place of tress as antepenultimate.
