Summary/Abstract: In order for teachers and school directors to provide an environment in which the essence of school learning takes place, it is necessary to define a goal and a goal-oriented action. It must be an environment conducive to quality interpersonal relationships, which result in the intention to maintain such interactions that will cause behaviour modelling in children for whom they are role models. The basis for such work is in the institutional responsibility of teachers, professional associates and school directors, and pedagogical competencies by which the planning and programming of educational work is based on individualized learning based on thematic teaching. In order to conclude on the synthesis of possible alienation of teaching practice from scientific knowledge, there was a need to empirically research the understanding of the concept of curriculum by teachers, whether the practice provides for recognizing the needs of children and other service users and whether it benefits partnerships. The research was applied to a sample of the extended stay teachers in primary schools, and the findings contributed to the recognition of curricular orientations and proposed work models according to the concept of the thematic curriculum.
