Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the evangelical visitations in the Evangelical church congregations, namely in Šariš-Zemplín Seniorate. It briefly points to the Žilina Synod (1610) which laid basis for the Church administration of the Evangelical Church in the territory of present-day Slovakia and the principles relating to the superintendent (bishop) visitation in the congregation. At the same time, the first superintendents for individual seats were selected at the synod. The paper contains translation of the Latin text of selected stages of canonical visitations of the Giraltovce Congregation in 1826.
