LITERARY NORM AND USE OF LANGUAGE

Summary/Abstract: Language is dynamic. Languages change with time, new words are invented, old words become obsolete and are replaced by the new ones. Nothing can stop language from changing. We live in an increasingly global world and in the last decades, the American and English cultures have impacted not only Romanian culture, but also Romanian language. The vocabulary is constantly renewed, and the language becomes richer, more expressive, more precise. The present paper aims to talk about the most frequent mistakes made in terms of orthoepy, punctuation, spelling, morphology, syntax, vocabulary and semantic meaning. They are presented along with the correct forms, as well as the relevant explanation in order to ensure that any doubt related to the use of specific words/structures is removed.
