Summary/Abstract: The global reach and seriousness of environmental issues and social activity directed towards the protection of the environment and sustainable development in the future create a specific challenge in terms of consideration and creation of the educational process. In that context, searching for the models and forms of didactic and educational work, which will stimulate critical and creative thinking, integrative approach to economic, social and environmental objectives, participation and action oriented learning, solidarity and responsibility for preserving of natural resources and environment protection, can be of crucial importance in terms of the future educational policy of every society. Taking the Bloom's Taxonomy as a starting point, the work observes objectives and tasks of teaching, explains characteristics and describes categories of Bloom's Taxonomy, with a particular reference towards the possibilities of its implementation with regards to content selection, planning and programming the environmental teaching and education. In addition, a modified form of Bloom's Taxonomy is presented, and its implementation in a particular task of environmental teaching for junior primary school classes (acquiring basic knowledge of protected areas in Serbia). In the end, in the form of a conclusion, advantages Bloom's concretization and operationalization of the educational goals are systematized and points to its implicit potential in environmental education are made.
