EU and China – political and economic aspect of cooperation

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to analyse the political, economic and legal aspects of cooperation between the European Union and China through the prism of common economic interests and economic complementarity. In the introductory part, the authors talk about the historical development of China as a state and its transformation in both political and economic terms. Special attention is paid to the historical development of relations between China and the European Union, with an emphasis on the development of economic, political and trade cooperation. These relations, among others, stand out as key in China's foreign policy priorities. In addition, the Belt and Road Initiative will be briefly explained, but the COVID-19 pandemic will also be discussed, as well as China's crucial role in this pandemic that has struck and changed the world.
