Summary/Abstract: In the long run, the usage of economic policy measures in the US and EU economies to overcome the consequences of the 2007 global economic crisis has produced different results in different urban agglomerations. In order to perceive the causes of such effects of the measures applied, this paperconducts analyses of the functioning of urban agglomerations, with a focus on specific forms of cluster expansion that are located within them. This is done primarily through the intermediary of two basic economic aggregates, unemployment and GDP, whose changes are monitored during the observed periods. The influence of the potential expanding of the basic cluster in them on economic aggregates is examined, and their mutual relation is observed according to the basic hypothesis of this paper. Based on the given results, suggestions for additional measures of structural economic policy are formed. In the long run, the usage of economic policy measures in the US and EU economies to overcome the consequences of the 2007 global economic crisis has produced different results in different urban agglomerations.
