Summary/Abstract: Moldova has long been at a disadvantage in Romania’s economic and social development strategies. This has led to a decline in the counties in this part of the country. Moldova’s economic development program is the expression of this changing attitude. Economic recovery was one of the themes of the November 1996 election campaign in Moldova. The most elaborate form regarding the realization and application of a Program of economic and social development of Moldova belonged to the Romanian Democratic Convention. The draft presented in the election campaign was well received by the public and contributed to the victory of the democratic forces in the elections.
