Summary/Abstract: Basing on the archival documents and newspapers of 1912, author elucidates the activity of the Russian Empire central authorities in organization and holding of festive events, devoted to the centenary of victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. The article also brings up an issue of society and state role in solution of war veterans social problems.
