Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the genesis of the classical guitar. The author investigates the design features of the main stringed plucked instruments such as the guitar and their relationship with the modern guitar model. At the same time, the role of outstanding performers on the six-string guitar, which influenced the further popularization of the instrument, is noted.
