Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the events that accompanied the start of the 1923–1924 academic year at Cluj University, in the aftermath of the violent student unrest of the previous year. The students seemed determined to continue their struggle, and the university authorities did their best to save the academic year by ousting the movement from the university. The initial student program was increasingly converted, with the help of various ideological friends, into a new nationalism. Reference is also made to the manner in which various parties, public personalities, or media outlets positioned themselves in relation to this topic.
