Summary/Abstract: Pollution is a complex issue, given the circulation of matter in nature. The impact of pollution on human health depends on several factors, such as dose, time of exposure, and the degree of harmfulness of each factor. Considering that in the area of Vukovar-Srijem County, apart from monitoring water quality, there is no established system of continuous monitoring of air quality, soil noise and ionizing radiation. The aim of this research is to determine the perception of county residents about the degree of environmental pollution. The study included 105 adult subjects (N=105), of which 74 were males and 31 were females, and a non-experimental method and a quantitative research approach were used. The results show a relatively low perception of environmental quality because the majority of respondents believe that the environment is in good condition (47.6%) and acceptable (39%). Only 10% of respondents believe that the environment is in excellent condition, and 3.8% of respondents believe that the environment is extremely polluted. Respondents believe that the most polluted are: air (38.1%), soil (25.7%) water (12.4%) food (9.5%) and 14.3% of respondents believe that there is no pollution in mentioned categories. On the Likert scale (1-5) of self-assessment of the current impact of an environmental factors on respondent's health, most results are in the scale range 1-3 as followed: "not a bit" 21%, "a little" 30.5%, "neither little or much "34.3%," much "11.4% and" very much "2.9%. Factors that were perceived as having the greatest impact on health were mechanically factors (17 subjects), biologically (15 subjects), and noise (12 subjects).
