- Summary/Abstract: The digitalization of business has become a trend that has engaged the entire business world. The advancement of digital, communication, and information technologies has influenced all aspects of modern life and work. In this environment, digitalization of business is no longer a luxury but a necessity, if one wants to survive in today's market. The European Union recognized digitalization as necessary process for maintaining and improving competitiveness, and sets establishment of a single market, innovation, and digitalization as the first strategic goals in its strategic framework and development programs for the period 2021- 2027. Today, companies face the challenge of effectively transforming and digitalizing their businesses. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is important to ask how much companies from this market are aware of the need for digitalization, and how far they have come in the process of digitalizing their business. Does this need affect only large companies, or similar processes also have to take place in the SME sector? The authors aim to determine whether there are significant differences in perceptions and the degree of digitalization between small, medium, and large companies in the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The authors analyzed the answers of 82 managers or owners of BiH companies, examining three key indicators of the current level of digitalization of business: (1) attitudes about digitalization processes in their own business, (2) the level of application of modern software solutions and applications (ERP, CRM, DMS, WMS, eCommerce) and their impact on business, and (3) technical aspects of digitalization, i.e. improvement of the digital environment in which companies operate. These aspects of digitalization are not directly controlled by companies but can significantly impact their business, including electronic seal and signa.ture, EDI application possibilities, application of barcodes, and artificial intelligence (AI)

- Summary/Abstract: Measles is an acute viral, highly contagious rash disease, which, as a rule, mainly affects children. Measles are caused by a virus, and are manifested by the appearance of a characteristic maculopapular exanthem and enanthem. Despite the existence of a proven effective vaccine, the continuous drop in vaccination coverage below 95% is the biggest problem today and can lead to a measles epidemic. Aim: Examine the epidemiological characteristics of measles occurrence in relation to time of onset, age, gender, vaccination status, and frequency of hospitalizations. Material and methods: A retrospective epidemiological study was conducted in the Split-Dalmatia County area from 2014 to 2023, based on individual reports, laboratory reports, and hospital records. Results: 19 cases of measles were recorded. There was a significant statistical difference among the affected individuals in terms of gender (p0.05), which is significantly lower than the rate in the Republic of Croatia (91.79%). Conclusion: Two doses of vaccine with a coverage of 95% of the general population are the only effective preventive measure against measles.

- Summary/Abstract: In order to assess the acceptability of the Zmijewski model for predicting business failures in transition countries, companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina were treated. The sample consists of 88 companies with assets of more than 5 million KM and total revenues of more than 5 million KM, and the data for the evaluation of the model were obtained from the financial reports of the companies, which must be deposited with the state agency FIA. The companies are manufacturing and trading companies that operate in the Zenica-Doboj canton of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The companies were divided into two groups: those that had difficulties in business, which were reflected in the absence of transaction account blocking at commercial banks, namely 76 companies, and 12 companies that had difficulties in business. The Zmijewski model treats three variables: net profit/total assets, total debt/total assets and short-term assets/short-term liabilities. The research results showed that the Zmijewski model can not be used with the reliability in companies in transition countries. We find the reasons in the business environment, the classification of companies into large, medium and small, as well as insufficient financial control by the state.

- Summary/Abstract: Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the leading cause of death among women. Due to the high incidence rate, methods for early detection of breast cancer are increasingly promoted, including breast self-examination, breast ultrasound, and mammography. Identifying risk factors for the onset of the disease is crucial for timely diagnosis and successful treatment. The main aim of the research was to examine the knowledge, concern, and impact of thoughts on breast cancer on the behavior of respondents. The study involved 382 respondents in the area of Central Bosnia. Data were collected through an anonymous questionnaire covering general information about the respondents and questions related to breast self-examination, level of concern, and knowledge. The study is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional, and the obtained data were statistically processed in Excel. According to the results obtained, the majority of respondents were in the age group ≤ 30 years and had intermediate professional education. Among respondents who stated that they knew how to perform breast self-examination correctly, 60% cited forgetting to do so as the most common reason for not performing it, accounting for 38.7%. A concerning finding was that 56% (N=213/382) of respondents never or occasionally perform breast self-examination. Among women in the general population in Central Bosnia, a low level of concern was observed in 60% of respondents, a moderate level in 31%, and a low level in 9%. Knowledge of the impact of risk factors on the onset of breast cancer led to the result that 5.7% of respondents had excellent knowledge, 51.6% had average knowledge, and 42.7% had insufficient knowledge. Although free physical breast examinations by a physician are available to everyone today, most respondents with high levels of concern have never undergone them, nor have they undergone breast ultrasound or mammography. Respondents with average and excellent knowledge, as well as those with low levels of concern, were more likely to attend breast examinations compared to respondents with low levels of knowledge and high levels of concern. There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of concern and the level of knowledge (p < 0.1).

- Keywords: Sunday work ban; trade; draft law;
- Summary/Abstract: In December 2023, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted a new law on internal trade to the parliamentary procedure. Within the aforementioned law, two articles refer to the regulation of work on Sundays. Unlike the Republic of Croatia, in Bosnia and Herzegovina there were no multi-year discussions on this topic. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to present a theoretical framework on the subject of banning work on Sundays, and to evaluate the economic effects of this ban in the entity area of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, using the scientific scenario method. In doing so, the scenario method is based on the application of an internally consistent view of what the economic future of this entity could be in the event of the application of the aforementioned law. By assessing the impact on five factors, the results in the paper show that there could be a disproportionate negative impact, to the detriment of small traders. The effects on employment, prices and turnover are less obvious. The limitations of the research are that this is just the beginning of discussions and that there are not many studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina that deal with this topic. The work represents a pioneering attempt to present the basic economic circumstances of the ban on working on Sundays in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is precisely in the aforementioned that the greatest contribution of this work is made.

- Summary/Abstract: Marketing is a scientific field that is exposed to permanent changes. First of all, there are major changes taking place in the field of information technology development and marketing communication media. Accordingly, marketing sees in this a chance to incorporate the aforementioned changes through the development of strategies, tactics and tools that will respond to the demands of business entities. The main goal of this study is to examine the importance of marketing of health institutions and health services in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina healthcare system. The study is quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive and comparative. A questionnaire created by the author on the basis of a review of professional and scientific literature was used as a research instrument. Respondents most often stated that they partially know the legal regulations in the field of health and health care, and completely in 47 or 33.6% of cases. Correlation analysis shows that variables that have an impact on respondents’ attitudes and knowledge about marketing in healthcare include the type of healthcare facility, canton, gender, workplace and perception of the healthcare purpose. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that responsible staff in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina healthcare institutions know the legal regulations related to the marketing of healthcare institutions and services and have a positive attitude towards marketing. As the purpose of marketing in health care, the respondents cite informing patients about healthcare services, recognition and attraction of patients/clients, and developing a competitive spirit in the healthcare market.

- Summary/Abstract: Accredited laboratories have advantage and convenience in all business processes, and they also include increased workload and financial costs. Running a laboratory, which is based on standardised work methods, widely inspires confidence in compliance and reliability of the obtained results. Primary goal of this survey is to investigate the number and geographic presence of accredited laboratories in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which conduct analyses of food and water and determine the advantage of business dealings of accredited laboratories. During this survey, we used secondary data collection method as well as survey method via questionnaire. The survey was conducted in September 2023. Accredited laboratories that perform analyses of food and water in Bosnia and Herzegovina were investigated, and around 20 or 51.3% laboratories were covered by this survey. Of the total number of accredited laboratories in Bosnia and Herzegovina (n=92), 39 or 42.4% perform analyses of food and water. Out of the total number of accredited laboratories (n=39) that perform analyses of food and water, the largest number is located in Sarajevo. In comparison to the total number of laboratories covered by this survey (n=20), profitability was increased in 16 or 80.0% laboratories. It is necessary to take into consideration facts that could greatly contribute to establishment of certain procedures, for example shorten the road to accreditation, reduce large financial investments, along with adhering to regulations and norms, and thus motivate a large number of organisations to join the accreditation process.
