Summary/Abstract: This publication is an attempt for an objective analysis of the nature and mechanisms of social policy pursued by the government in terms of emloyment and tackling unemployment in the period between 1944–1948. The publication discusses various social and legislative measures and initiatives setout by the government, as they are outlined key features of the social policy of great social importance in overcoming one of the main social risks in Bulgarian society during that period. Presented the specifics characterstic of the sistem in different stages of its chronological development, it is displayed as positive guidelines, as well as negative consequences in the context of the interaction between social policy, the economy and the labor market.
