Battle of Ţuţora in 1620. Causes and Consequences

Summary/Abstract: Battle of Ţuţora in 1620 aroused the interest of the Polish historiography for a long time. Very many papers, studies, articles and books examined the events of 1620 in the Country of Moldova and the impact this battle has had over the Polish-Turkish relations, as well as the situation of the Country of Moldova at that time. Although it played a very important role in the history of the Country of Moldova during the first decades of the XVIIth century, the Battle of Ţuţora from 1620 has not received yet a critical and comprehensive study in the Romanian historiography. Those few mentions concern only a more widely central and south-east European political context space where Moldova was involved at that time.
