Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the article is to analyse integration policy towards persons under international protection in selected European agglomerations (such as Barcelona, Berlin, Glasgow, and Amsterdam). The main attention has been paid to local challenges after 2015 and the so called “migration crisis”. Most of the articles available have overlooked aspects of the cities’ responsibility for long-term socio-demographic processes. Researchers have focused mainly on EU and national policies and solutions. Challenges related to the labour market, professional integration of people at risk of social exclusion, education, anti-discrimination, social and political participation of residents, and housing policy apply to migrant and host communities, and decision-makers at the local level.
