Summary/Abstract: In this article, we described an experimental study of the psychological support for the development of communicative competence of future specialists. Since in the competence approach the result of education is viewed as the ability to act in different situations, a brief literature review of the concept and problems of the competence approach in vocational education was conducted. Comparative results of an experimental study conducted in two higher educational institutions teaching students of pedagogical and medical profiles are presented.
