Summary/Abstract: In the last volume of his philosophical trilogy dedicated to culture, The Genesis of Metaphor and the Meaning of Culture, Lucian Blaga pleads for the gnoseological virtues of metaphors, in their double active hypostasis (plasticizing and revealing), but also for the open directions in point of knowledge of the two categories of myths (significant and trans-significant), also referring to the enigmatic gifts of the creative creation with which the human being was endowed, without avoiding the impasses under which the creative destiny can often enter. In the same work, the Romanian philosopher addresses some fundamental aspects of culture, in general, and of Romanian culture, in particular, such as: the distinction between the minor culture, specific to the rural world, and the major, specific to the urban environment, the antinomic relationship civilization, etc.
