Summary/Abstract: During World War II, when propaganda played a key role in the conflict, the negative features of the enemy were grotesquely exacerbated, coming to embody absolute evil. Equally, the Romanian soldier was full of qualities – courage, honour, spirit of sacrifice, all these noble qualities were found in the Romanian army. The enemy-own forces ratio is doubled, in a coalition war, as was the Second World War for Romania, by the vision about the Allied troops. They must be as close as possible to their own image, and by August 23, 1944 the German soldier had to appear in official propaganda in positive colours. Highlighting the aspects that would shape a favourable image was a clear concern of the Romanian authorities, who used in extenso some key words: educated, belongs to a superior race, trained with the latest knowledge in the field of military art and strategy, unmatched fighter, respects hierarchies and behave civilized in relations with foreigners.
